-- The PAN Facility provides DNA Sequencing for PCR products, plasmids, and large clones/BACs. We also provide Fragment Analysis services. There are different levels of service we provide to meet your work and budgetary needs.

Service Type	Description
DNA SEQUENCING (not available for Fragment Analysis)	Customers provide purified template (plasmid/PCR) and a custom primer. or choose a primer provided by PAN. The PAN Facility will perform the sequencing reaction using BigDye v3.1 The PAN Facility will clean-up the sequence reaction using sephadex beads. The PAN Facility will add formamide and run the samples on the 3130xl. Data available by the next business day.
DNA Sequencing CLEAN-UP	Customers provide 10ul DNA sequenced (BigDye v3.1 only) samples. The PAN Facility will clean-up the sequence reaction using sephadex beads. The PAN Facility will add formamide and run the samples on the 3130xl. Data available by the next business day.
DNA Sequencing INSTRUMENT RUN ONLY	Customers provide purified DNA sequencing samples (BigDye v3.1 only). The PAN Facility will add formamide and run the samples on the 3130xl. Data available by the next business day.

Service Type	Description
Fragment Analysis CLEAN-UP (optional)	Customers provide 1ul-10ul of labelled PCR products. The PAN Facility will clean-up the PCR products using sephadex beads. The PAN Facility will run PCR products with ROX or LIZ ladder. Data available by the next business day.
Fragment Analysis INSTRUMENT RUN ONLY	Customers provide 1-10ul of labelled PCR products. The PAN Facility will run PCR products with ROX or LIZ ladder. Data available by the next business day.

The PAN Facility has an ABI 3130xl Genetic Analyzer. It is a multi-color fluorescence-based DNA analysis system with 16 capillaries operating in parallel, capable of both DNA Sequencing and Fragment Analysis/Genotyping.

READ LENGTHS (back to top)

The read-lengths are between 750 and 850 bases with a basecalling accuracy > 99%. However, this is dependent on the quality of the templates or reactions that are submitted.

Data should be available online next business day by Noon.
