Random control networks derived from permuted data

To measure the significance of the connectivity sizes of our network, we constructed a control network from randomized data. We permuted the expression levels of each experiment of each organism separately. We then constructed a control network from this permuted data by applying the same procedure used to construct the original network. We repeated this procedure 10 times, resulting in 10 control networks.
